Thickened Fucoidan Toromi

toromi fucoidanFucoidan is now available as an easily dissoluble powder. Compared with previous mozuku extract products, this new powder is significantly more soluble; mixing it in tepid water for one to two minutes results in an easy to drink solution with no gummy residue left behind. The consistency can even be adjusted to make it easier to swallow. Adjusting the amount of water used to dissolve Toromi Fucoidan allows you to create a drink with a consistency that suits your own preferences. The product has a low adhesive property and therefore reduces the risk of choking. With Toromi Fucoidan we improved on previous products by adding thickness without it becoming syrupy or sticky, making it easier to swallow. Dissolving Toromi Fucoidan in 50 ml of room temperature water results in a mixture with the same consistency as most tonkatsu sauces on the market, but without the sticky charactertoromi graph

*Stickiness characterization in foods is measured by the degree to which the product adheres to the inside of the mouth. Because starch is not an ingredient in Toromi Fucoidan, the consistency is not affected by amylase (saliva). Therefore, even if mealtime extends for long time, the solution will not lose its consistency or separate. *However, if left for too long, the product may thicken too much, making it difficult to swallow. Brown seaweeds, such as mozuku, kombu, and wakame, get their slimy characteristic partially from polysaccharides, including fucoidan and alginic acid. While kombu and wakame are composed primarily of alginic acid, fucoidan makes up 90% of the polysaccharides found in Okinawa mozuku. In other words, the amount of fucoidan in Okinawa mozuku is significantly larger than that found in other brown seaweeds. Our product contains a total of 60 grams of fucoidan extracted from Okinawa mozuku. We developed "Toromi Fucoidan" because several customers signed up for our regular delivery program were suddenly canceling their membership. When we asked them why, many responded that they found the capsules too difficult to swallow. Although the customers wanted to take fucoidan supplements or provide them for someone, the powders and liquids, not to mention the capsules sold by our company were hard to swallow. toromi developmentAfter learning this we set out to determine the cause of the problem. Through our research, we found that many senior citizens suffer from difficulty swallowing. This was the beginning of our research into food and drink that would still be easy for seniors with difficulty swallowing to ingest. Before we came up with "Toromi Fucoidan," we thought that a gelatin product might be successful. We knew that many care facilities serve foods reconstituted as gelatins because they have the benefit of being easily swallowed without water. However, gelatins have a major drawback; they tend to separate when stored for long periods of time, causing water to ooze out of the mixture. This does not help people who suffer from difficulty swallow. Our next thought was to try using retort products with a thickening agent. However, it was difficult to maintain the stability of the consistency or the quality of the product so we moved on. After researching into whether or not there were better options, we learned about products designed for senior citizens or persons with difficulty swallowing that allow the consistency to be adjusted by the consumer. When we began developing "Toromi Fucoidan" we believed it would be simple because fucoidan itself has a thick consistency. We thought that all we had to do was tap into that characteristic to make a successful product. However, this was not the case. Fucoidan has a very stringy viscosity, making it difficult to swallow by nature. Therefore, we tried to improve the consistency of fucoidan by combining it with adjustable consistency products on the market. However, these did not combine well and it was unsuccessful. But, we were convinced that there was a thickening agent out there that would combine well with fucoidan so we tried a variety of different options. After 6 months, we finally found something that worked. We created a product that is not only easy to swallow, but contains a total of 60 grams of fucoidan. Although "Toromi Fucoidan" cannot absolutely prevent choking, compared with previous fucoidan products, it is definitely the safest to swallow. Additionally, not only does our product use Okinawa mozuku, the focus of our research, as a base ingredient, but it also contains 2 grams per individual serving and 60 grams per package of fucoidan itself. This is a fucoidan product created with drinkability as a main priority. Just dissolve it in tepid water and mix it in a shaker for one to two minutes and you have a fucoidan supplement with just the right consistency. It contains high quality, pure fucoidan extracted from Okinawa mozuku. Each individual serving has 2 grams of fucoidan. Pure, high-quality fucoidan is extracted from Okinawa mozuku using Kanehide Bio Co., Ltd's patented methods. Okinawa mozuku contains both Okinawa mozuku fucoidan and U-fucoidan. This product contains no artificial flavorings, scents, or preservatives. Please, have a look at our similar fucoidan products. Attention: shaker shown on the picture does not come with the product.
