PROPOLIS SUPER GREEN

Propolis is a natural antibiotic made by honey bees, which bite off tiny bits of tree bark and plants and mix it with their saliva. Honey and royal jelly are made by honey bees as a nutrition material, and propolis is made to prevent the intrusion of pests and supress the propagation of unwanted bacteria and viruses. Since honey bees contact with multiple plants randomly, the chemical composition of propolis will always vary. This explains why propolis can be used for long periods of time and viruses and unwanted bacteria will not be able to adapt (will not create an immune response of their own) to it. Never-the-less, propolis from most locations, such as South America (except for some locations in Brazil), China, Europe and Oceania has a common characteristic, - its main component is flavonoids of different kinds. One of the few exceptions is propolis produced in some locations in Brasil. Because it is rosemary trees and not poplar or eucaliptus trees (as it is in other locations, i.e. Europe) that make up the bulk of the source plants of this kind of propolis, its main functional component is a cinnamic acid derivative and not flavonoids.

In 1998 and 1999 The Japanese Cancer Research Association made several reports on the anti-cancer effects of artepillin C, which was proved to be not a type of a flavonoid, but a cinnamic acid derivative.
